Despite being well-known Arantzazu holds many secrets and hidden corners. On this route you get to know some of them, as it is possible to browse the surroundings of the sanctuary without going directly there. Along the way you can admire the mountainous area of Arantzazu and the sheep pens of Arriana and Bellota, from perspectives which tourist guides do not show.
ITURRIGORRI FOOTBALL GROUNDS
Between hills and pathways, Iturrigorri is one of the most well known dells – it was the chosen spot of the Franciscans for playing football.
ITURRIGORRI FOREST
The Autonomous Regional Government of Guipuzcoa uses this forest for research, given its wealth of biodiversity.
SHEEP PEN OF ARRIONA
This small dell shows a panorama of beech wood. Looking closely at the sheep pen you can see its ash stone.
SHEEP PEN OF BELLOTZA
This is an ancient sheep pen, circular in shape like many others. The central dividing rock in Bellota is particularly interesting.
