This 19th century kiln has been declared an asset of cultural interest by the Basque government as it is one of the few surviving ceramic kilns in the autonomous region of the Basque Country and the only one in Guipuzcoa.
By examining the ceramic remains found inside and around the kiln, it has been established that it was used to produce objects of common usage such as bowls, plates, etc.
A collection of pots from Bittoriano Larrañaga made for domestic use are currently exhibited. Guided visits, ending in the ceramic workshop, are available.
